The Association of Polish Artists and Designers in Szczecin cordially invites you to the Kierat Gallery to the KONWERGENCJE | CONVERGENCES exhibition. The curator of the event is Aurelia Tymińska. The project includes an exhibition of art by five artists: Monika Aleksandrowicz, Agnieszka Chmura-Wieczorek, Małgorzata Kaczmarska, Marc Ney / Konrad Kuźniewski and Aurelia Tymińska.

CONVERGENCES is the title of the presentation of artistic works by a group of five artists who, representing different expressions and media, combined their creative activity as part of a common project reflecting on the kinship or convergence of ideas and the coincidence of responses in art. Convergence in art refers to the phenomenon in which different art fields, styles, technologies and disciplines combine or come closer to each other, creating new forms of artistic expression or contexts. This concept is deeply related to advances in thought and changing social and cultural contexts. In several ways, seemingly different and yet harmonious, the ideas of convergence are manifested in art by five artists: Monika ALEKSANDROWICZ, Agnieszka CHMURA-WIECZOREK, Małgorzata KACZMARSKA, Konrad KUŹNIEWSKI and Aurelia TYMIŃSKA. They use a variety of tools and techniques to convey a richer, multidimensional artistic message. In their works, they combine the material world with the immaterial, even transcendental. They transpose the concept of reality in various ways into specific icons of its material representation. In particular, each artist touches the immaterial dimension through different artistic expressions in his works. Both spaces - the material and conceptual worlds - intersect in a kind of antimony, where time opposes eternity, immanence mixes with transcendence, and the imaginable with the unnamed. Five artists meet on this plane of complementary paradoxes and each of them, in an individual way, reveals to the recipient the secret they have discovered. One may get the impression that in the joint project "Convergences" through art, we are looking at one mystery of knowing the world, only from a different angle each time. (...)

The set of works by Małgorzata KACZMARSKA was created as a result of inspiration related to the history of icons. The origins of these performances are related to the art of portraiture - a tradition to which the artist also refers. Her works represent a unique dialogue between tradition and modernity. The author transfers the ideas of traditional icons to her personal experiences. It can be said that by contemplating the icon of her patron, the artist rediscovers and rewrites her own self-portrait. An important element of the composition is the multiplied gesture surrounding the main scene and the traditional symbolism of colors related to the depiction of Saint Margaret. A parallel aspect of the works is the modernization of the idea of a holy person in the form of a celebrity surrounded by admiration and even reverence. (...)

Each of the artists participating in the "Convergences" project, through artistic activities, enters personally and introduces the recipient to a kind of common discussion that is art. Convergence in art opens the door to limitless creative possibilities, enabling creators to interact with audiences in a way that reflects the changing reality. If we understand contact with art, either directly - by creating it, or indirectly - by receiving it as a cognitive experience, we can assume that this act is a kind of conversation and exploration. Art becomes a meeting place for various experiences and art focuses on understanding the world as if through a lens. By following the artists into the mystery of art, we discover seemingly long-forgotten layers of our own sensitivity, spirituality and a broader understanding of the universe.
