This scene, along with the documentation of my grandmother’s passion for skiing, made me finally find her, i.e. I began to see, in a way, characteristically, to understand a little bit more, to create her image beyond the blank slogan “maternal grandmother”. This was the first clue, after which I allowed myself to play detective in relation to the person she was; the more so because thanks to my inquisitiveness, there emerged the image of a person surprisingly similar to myself, at least in terms of the dynamics of life and social relationships. Of course, I can be wrong about her, just as I can draw hasty conclusions towards myself, but one thing is certain – we shared the love for skiing. She must have been a good skier – I see it in her posture and outfit, her friends are not as professional in this sport – and I have faithfully reflected all these aspects in the picture. And I know this to be true, because – for a short while, and long time ago, but still – I did a stint as a ski instructor.
